How to safely get into your car if you lock your keys inside. This method will work with all types of vehicles...even those with alarm systems. This is only for people who are getting into their own cars. NOT FOR BURGLARY!
With that said, this video is intended to demonstrate how to open a locked car (b/c we all know how often this happens to people, in fact, 2 people at my appartment complex had me open
their vehicles this week b/c they locked their keys inside.)
Now, this is not harmful and it will not bend or tear the rubber liner, in fact, this is safer than using a slim Jim b/c a slim Jim runs the risk of scratching the window. If this method is done correctly in no way will it damage the car. If there is an alarm system enabled, then it will shut off within a minute or so of unlocking the car. Now for all you people out there wondering how to get these tools when it happens to you, call your friend or faimly member who does have these two tools at their house and have them come meet you and help you out. Its a hell of a lot better than paying 45 dollars to a locksmith to open your car. Plus, this method, if done correctly will do absolutely no damage.........trust me. It simple separates the top portion from the jam which in most cases is at least a foot and a half from the closing and locking mechanism....it will not bend or break or scratch the door, frame, liner, or car in anyway, and for the guy who commented saying that it would tear the weather strip and cause your door to rust out, it separates the door from the panel, just as if it were open and you simple press the unlock button or open the door. It will not tear the rubber or scratch the paint.
