Hi this is Andrew on behalf of Expert Village.com and in this next clip I am just going to be showing you how to insure that the hem on a pant leg is going to be the same on both pant legs.
Now in a previous clip I mentioned how you go about measuring to ensure the right length of the cuff. Once you have that measurement, typically you can just take the tape measure that you used and make sure that it is going to be hemmed accurately all the way around the cuff and you would pin it.
Now a lot of people think that you can just take that same measurement over to the other side of the cuff and do the same thing but very often what I have found is that people have slightly different lengths of legs and we don't notice it because we are constantly walking around with those legs and we are used to the length. But when it comes to measuring material and making sure that it is precise it is always best to measure each leg independently, marked independently and measure them independently back on the table once you have it down and marked. This will make sure that it is going to be even on either side. Usually the differences are very minute but are noticeable when you compare it between the two. So I would just want to put my tape measure down on the material after I have marked it and make sure that it is the same all the way around the cuff and do that independently for each pant leg.
