Hi, this is Andrew on behalf of Expert Village.com and I am just going to be showing you in this next clip how to tie off the ends after sewing on a button to a polyester with a silk lining men's long jacket.
What we have done is we have replaced one of the buttons that had fallen off and now we are going to turn the jacket over so that the material of the back side is facing out. The most important thing here is getting a knot in the string the thread is close to the surface of the interior of the jacket as possible because that is going to allow for the least amount of room for the button to slide around and work out the knots that you have tied. The first thing you want to do is you want to take in for like a 90 degree angle with a thread and a needle and just bring it around and come back up just to form a standard knot.
Now the best way that I do this is that I hold my finger on the backside of the button somewhere to tying a bow and then you just pull the string tight and this will force the knot to stay as close to the surface to the jacket as possible. Then when you are done all you need to do is take a pair of scissors and cut as close to the button as you possibly can. This is how you sew on a button to replace one that has fallen off of a men's long jacket
