Hi this is Andrew on behalf of Expert Village.com and in this next clip I am going to be showing you how to thread up a needle with multiple colors of thread.
This will allow your hem line for pants to be a little bit more unique if you want to show it off. So in this case you are going to need what is a called a thread helper and it comes with most needle kits that you can buy pretty much at any convenience store and what it does you thread it through the eye hole of the needle and it allows you to have a larger area through which to string the thread. So you want to insert that first and then you have your different colors of thread that you want to use and in this case I have white, blue and orange. You want to take each of the threads individually and put it through the thread helper. Once you have it through, you just want to pull the thread helper through the eye of the needle and this will grab all the thread and bring it with you. You just pull the thread helper away and then you just determine the length of thread that you want and you want to try to keep them all the same.
So once you have your thread lengths you just want to double it over and cut the thread. Then you would tie it just like you would tie the single strand but all grouped together. In this case, you would only need to do one knot because it is going to be thick enough to stop when it hits the material. Typically when you do this you want to use a needle with a larger eyehole than you would regularly use with just a single strand of the thread you are using just because it is going to be as if you are using larger embroidery thread.
