Hi, this is Andrew on behalf of Expert Village.com and in this next clip I am just going to be showing you how to tie off the ends and finish the button for polyester material.
Now typically you end up at the back of the material when you are sewing because that is the side that you started from and that is where build up of material of the thread is going to be primarily which is a good thing because you don't want it showing. So now that I threaded the button about 5 or 6 times I am going to take the needle and hold the thread and sort of form like a right angle with my fingers and then I am going to bring the needle down into the fabric bringing it back around and tying a knot. Now the most important thing about this process is making sure the knot winds up as close to the fabric as possible. Otherwise you are going to have too much play in the base of the button. So the best way to handle that is just by placing your thumb somewhere tying a bow on a package.
Now typically you want to repeat this knot tying process 2 or 3 times until you feel comfortable that the button is secure and that the thread is not going to come undone very easily. Once you are finished tying off the knot you want to take a pair of scissors and simply cut the thread as close to the knot as possible. And you are done.
