Hi, my name's Beamer and we're taking apart a moped carburetor and right now we're going to start cleaning it.

There's a fluid you can buy called "Carb Cleaner" and basically it's just a general purpose cleaner. It's made for a carburetor itself. You don't want to get it on any plastic, or paint, or your skin. It's very, very harmful- it'll eat through paint and plastic. So every part of a carb is perfectly okay for this to be on. So, basically what you want to do is you want to spray down each part of the carburetor. And be sure you don't miss any holes- there's lots of little holes- every hole in a carburetor does something. Be sure to clean out the hole of a jet. They get clogged very easily since they're so small. So you want to make sure to clean that out to make sure that fuel flows through properly.

Let's start with the body of the carburetor to clean it. You take your "Carb Cleaner" and basically just spray any section you can get "Carb Cleaner" on. Any hole on here is very important to clean out. Just make sure you clean every part of it. As for the bowl, any buildup has gathered in the bottom make sure you spray all of it out. Don't scratch it out with a screwdriver or anything. If it's built up and you can't get it out by spraying it, if you just spray the bottom of the carb and let it fill up, and then leave it overnight, then it should come out just fine. And that's how you clean the carb.
