Hello I'm Erica Saylors and this is my assistant model Ashley Charlton. I'm going to talk about what not to do in a pageant when you're competing. Ashley why don't you make a circle turn for me. Okay, she just kind of tripped when she was making a circle turn. Now make a circle and react differently. This time when she made the circle turn, she turned back around and she didn't have that horrible oh my gosh look on her face, she just kept her confidence and her composure and she kept going, that's very important. When you're winning a pageant, it's easy to smile and it's easy to be happy. But if the winner was just announced and that winner was not you, I've seen many young ladies with frowns on their faces or start crying or get mad and you could just see it right then and there. This is what not to do when you're losing a pageant. Ashley I'm going to announce the winner and you're going to react in a bad way. And the winner is Erica Saylors. Notice how she's not keeping her eyes up, she's not keeping a constant smile on her face, it looks like she's not happy for the winner, that's not good when you're competing in a pageant and it also shows animosity toward the other contestants. Part of being a representative and winning a pageant is being happy for other contestants when they win something. Ashley this time I'm going to announce the winner, it's not going to be you and react differently. And the winner is Erica Saylors. Perhaps she's disappointed, but she's still gracious to the winner. When you have to stand still for a long period of time, make sure you keep your shoulders down, your head up and your back straight to show good posture. Sometimes, it might hurt after a while, but its important to present yourself with confidence, make sure you're not fidgeting when standing still, you're not scratching your nose, unless it's a very, very deep itch. Just try to keep your composure as much as possible while you're on stage in front of an audience. Your audience will appreciate you for being professional.
