Hi this is Aaron Fruitstone from Chi Martial Arts in Miami Shores, Florida. You can reach us on the web at www.chimartialarts.com. The next technique that you will learn in advanced Tae Kwon Do is a reverse downward kick. Anytime you hear reverse in Tae Kwon Do, typically it means that you're going to be spinning. So you're going to be kicking with your rear shoulder and your rear leg, from this position you're going to turn your shoulder and look over. It's very important that you locate your opponent, you can track them with your leg, and you're going to lift it close to your body, arch it straight up and straight down in an outward motion. The angle is diagonal to their body because you're rotating and swinging your leg out. Their natural defense will be to slide away. Again with downward kicks, the target to the top of the head, the nose and the chest or the shoulder. Anyone that slides away is going to make themselves vulnerable to this attack. Again, rotate looking over the shoulder-pop the leg-up and straight down. At normal speed.
