The next technique that you'll be learning in advanced Tae Kwon Do is a twisting kick. It's a great kick to throw when your opponent is very tight or fights very sideways because the angle of the kick is very diagonal from the bottom. Low twisting kicks which are illegal in sparring but very vital in a self defense technique goes to the inside or the outside of the thigh. A middle twisting kick would go anywhere from the chest all the way up to the shoulders and a high twisting kick would be intended for the head. And what you're going to do is you're going to lift your knee up, just like you do for a front snap kick, except you're going to angle your knee diagonal. Make sure you pull your toes back; you're going to extend your leg out and in and return. The diagonal angle forces it to pass under your opponent's guard, either this way, this way or this way. When your opponent turns their back to you, you can fire them up under their shoulders. Again. Out and In. And at normal speed. We'll be back.
